ECO4
Energy Company Obligation. A government scheme requiring large energy suppliers to fund energy efficiency improvements for eligible households.
BUS
Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Provides 7,500 pounds towards heat pump installation. Available in England and Wales for homes replacing fossil fuel heating.
GBIS
Great British Insulation Scheme. Funds insulation improvements for homes in lower council tax bands or on certain benefits.
Warm Homes Plan
The government plan to upgrade millions of homes with energy efficiency measures. Encompasses several individual schemes and funding streams.
HUG
Home Upgrade Grant. Targets off-gas-grid homes with EPC ratings of D or below. Covers insulation, heating, and renewable energy installations.
EPC requirement
Many grants require an EPC assessment before application. Some target homes rated D, E, F or G. Getting an EPC costs around 60 to 120 pounds.
